True Christians are disciples of Jesus.
True Christians are disciples of Jesus.
The Father is the soul of God. The Father's Word (the "Word of God") is the servant of the Father. The Father's spirit (will) is communicated to us by His Holy Ghost in the power of His truth-the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit of Truth (Holy Ghost) witnesses His Word and delivers His will as prophesy.
...Have faith in God! Saved.Church
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me...And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:38, 40.
There are three wills specifically mentioned in the New Testament of the will of God.
We should understand and consider them all. They are:
Note: The will of God is not directly stated in the verse above, but everyone should have no problem admitting there is a will of God. For example, the New Testament of the King James Bible uses the phrase "will of God" 23 times, "will of the Father" once, and "will of Him that sent me" (said Jesus) 3 times.
Human "will" is determined by the outcome or resultant action of a decision or suggestive motivation. For example, we use our human will ("will of man") when we decide to overcome the will of our flesh and repent from sin.
An excellent definition of the will of man and will of the flesh is found in Webster's 1828 Dictionary. We print it here with slight modifications.
God's will is different from man's will. My Father's will is absolute and assured. He does not need to reason because He knows all, and His will IS prophesy. Thus, "decision or suggestive motivation" is not part of the Father's will because He set all things in motion from the beginning of time.
It's all important if you want to avoid hell, live forever as part of the true Royal Family, and co-own the universe.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12-13 (emphasis added).
The will of the flesh is what makes us our own god, "I am flesh". Our will of the flesh is the product of what we have brought into our body (and mind) through the 5 carnal sense gates. The carnal inputs influence and shape the carnal mind. Beware:
The born again guard the sensory gates with the Word (part of the Spirit) like a filter to avoid the vulnerabilities of our flesh, and yet we still make mistakes. Anything a person lusts after that is contrary to the sufficiency of God is a temptation to sin. God provides and the enemy tempts.
To emphasize the fact Jesus knew the Spirit is incorruptible and eternal and the flesh is temporal and decays, Jesus said:
Remember, Jesus did not sin but He still said His flesh was not good, but only God (the Spirit) is good.
Those of us who live in forgiveness of sin chose the will of God as the way to live forever as He promised.
We were given the Spirit of eternal life just as Jesus said we would. He also said we live forever with Him in the house of our Father, the universe of His will, always in love, because He is God and God is love!
Remain penitent and humble trying to get it right.
Thus, living in pursuit of the will of God must become our way (pattern) of life when we are born again. The master is Jesus. All of us who are born again comprise the body of Jesus the Christ as the children of God. The word "body" is used in the context of a group of people alike in belief, acting in one accord, and one mind (the mind of Christ and the Word of God).
No matter how we look, our lifestyles should reflect being born again of the Spirit because we are the light of the world and beacons in the groups and communities we are in. Some must repent and leave their current group because it isn't God's will they stay in, but the group from which they depart is an easy mission field. Who knows more about where you came from and the sin you left than you? Thus, we shall serve the Lord as we are, and He will grow the change in us as He desires, always in love.
It's time for us to shine and help people find salvation or at least plant a seed for it.
Why did Jesus say "might" receive the promise? Some will fall away and lose it all in the sea of Apostasy.
Yes. Remember, the Father said He has a servant, a soul, and a spirit. He (the Father) is the soul (life) of God. The Father's (God's) servant is His Word, and His Word is God as the issue (offspring) of the Father. When "the Word was made flesh" (John 1:14), the Word was given a human body from conception as the offspring of the Father Himself in a new type of man-of the Spirit. Jesus the Christ is the first existence of God in man as a new creation by the Spirit.
Jesus is the "last Adam", the King, and Lord of all.
As the born again, the body of believers in Christ, His Spirit (the Word), and the Father's Spirit (the Holy Ghost) live in us, making us the King's ambassadors (servants by and of His Word) and the Father's children.
The will of man is the spirit of man. More specifically, the will of man is the gatekeeper of the spirit of man because of choice. The Bible often uses the term synonymously, but the relationship in orientation is easily understood.
In addition to John 1:13 (top of this section), the following verses of the Bible help us understand the will of man as a decision maker, by the faculty of decision, not by the resultant choice.
The question then becomes what are the lifestyle options for man to choose between? There are only two.
The spirit (will) of man chooses between two lifestyles: (i) "Inside-out" by the Spirit according to the will of God for that which pleases God and man receives His promise of salvation and eternal life as a child of His, the one true God; or (ii) "Outside-in" by the will of his flesh as a friend of the world pursuing that which pleases himself in satisfaction of lusts thereof and man remains unregenerate and an enemy of God receiving eternal death.
Choose wisely!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ presented in the New Testament of the King James Bible brings eternal life by the will of God for all who believe it. The will of the flesh prefers friendship with the world bringing sin and death.
Choose wisely.
